Walk-in cooler and freezer monitoring without installing a single sensor

Elite Energy Management monitors walk-in coolers and freezers through the refrigeration controls a site already has, scores every box nightly against its own history, and warns you when a hold is getting harder to maintain, hours to days before product is at risk. No sensors, no gateways, no installation visit. Priced per unit, the same as a rooftop unit, on the same dashboard.

Why walk-ins fail quietly

The opener finds it first

A walk-in that drifts warm overnight is discovered at 5am by whoever opens, after the product has been at risk for hours. The compressor runtime told the story the evening before.

Door traffic and defrost hide the trend

Temperature swings with every door open and every defrost cycle, so a box that is slowly losing its hold looks normal in any single reading. The problem is visible only as a trend across days.

Product costs more than the repair

A failed walk-in can mean a full product loss on top of an emergency call, and the emergency call still runs 2 to 5 times the planned rate.

Refrigeration and HVAC are managed by different people with different tools

The facilities team watches the roof, the store manager watches the walk-in thermometer, and nobody sees both on one screen.

Why a thermometer and an alarm miss it

A temperature alarm fires when the box is already warm. What it cannot see is the box working harder every night to stay cold: longer compressor runs, slower recovery after the door closes, defrost cycles that take longer to come back from. That strain is the warning, and it shows up in the controls data days before the alarm.

  • Compressor runtime creeping up for the same hold is the earliest signal, and no alarm watches it.
  • Recovery time after door traffic and defrost lengthens as a box degrades.
  • Coil temperature drifting away from box temperature points at the refrigeration side before the box itself warms.
  • A single warm reading is noise. The same reading three nights running is a trend.

What Elite Energy Management does differently

We connect to the refrigeration controls already on site, collect readings from every walk-in every 60 seconds, and let AI learn how each box behaves when it is healthy. When behavior drifts, you get a plain-English warning with a recommended next step, on the same dashboard as your rooftop units.

A health score for every walk-in

Every cooler and freezer gets a 0 to 100 score, updated nightly. Running well, Monitoring, or Action needed, the same scale as the rooftop units.

Warnings before product is at risk

The platform flags a box that is holding temperature but working harder to do it, which is how most refrigeration failures announce themselves.

HVAC and refrigeration on one screen

A warm walk-in and a failing rooftop compressor land on the same ranked list, so one person sees the whole building.

Ask about any box in plain English

The AI assistant answers questions like "which walk-in at my Phoenix store ran its compressor the longest this week" with numbers and a next step.

No new hardware. No installation visits.

Walk-in monitoring connects through the refrigeration controls already on site. Refrigeration monitoring is currently available through eViewIoT, with more controllers in progress. If your sites have no connected refrigeration controls, we partner with eViewIoT to get you connected.

  • Nothing installed in the box, nothing on the roof.
  • Monitoring is read only. We never change setpoints or defrost schedules.
  • Pricing starts at $5 per unit per month, a walk-in is one unit, same as a rooftop unit.

Honest about what is new

Refrigeration scoring went live in October 2026. The rooftop HVAC side of the platform has a published detection record: across technician-confirmed repairs, 87% were flagged before the technician arrived, with a median of 6 days advance warning. The refrigeration record is being accumulated the same way, logged against technician-confirmed service events, and will be published on the methodology page once there is enough of it to report honestly. Until then we do not claim a refrigeration detection rate.

Common questions about walk-in monitoring

No. The platform reads the data your existing refrigeration controls already produce. If a site has no connected refrigeration controls, basic hardware has to come first, and we partner with eViewIoT for that.

The same as a rooftop unit: pricing starts at $5 per unit per month, and a walk-in cooler or freezer is one unit. A store with 4 rooftop units and 2 walk-ins is 6 units.

Walk-in monitoring is currently available through eViewIoT, with more refrigeration controllers in progress. If your sites run something else, tell us; new integrations are added regularly.

No. Alarms and compliance logs tell you when a box is already out of range. Elite Energy Management watches how hard the box is working to stay in range, which is the earlier signal. Keep your alarms; this is the warning before them.

It tells you what changed: longer compressor runs, slower recovery, holds getting harder. The technician confirms the cause on site, whether that is a door gasket, a dirty condenser, low charge, or a failing compressor. The value is arriving early with a hypothesis.
